Homegrown is because we recruit from unemployment or referrals, train effectively using our sister company A Training Academy, and in doing so, help improve wellbeing, communities and lifestyle.
AJ-Security’s dedication to quality and care in the security industry stems from a profound background marked by both experience and personal motivation.
Our founder, owner, and Managing Director began his career as a young bouncer in 1989, transitioning over decades in the industry into a Door Supervisor as the industry evolved with the formation of the Security Industry Authority. This change was widely embraced for enhancing the role’s responsibilities and defining job expectations more clearly.
A tragic incident in August 2017, involving a fatal unprovoked knife attack on a close friend, profoundly impacted him and the community, reinforcing his commitment to prevent such events in the future. This led to the official launch of AJ-Security in January 2018, after acquiring essential quality management accreditations that reflect our dedication to safeguarding those who invest their trust in us.
By 2021, AJ-Security had earned significant certifications including ISO 9001:2015, Safecontractor, Cyber Essentials, and in 2022 we achieved the prestigious Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).
These accolades underline our consistent commitment to quality management and client information security.
Our services extend beyond providing licensed male and female security guards; they also include Door Supervisors for licensed venues, ensuring safe and enjoyable evenings for all patrons, organisers and management. Our uniformed presence signifies a company that genuinely cares, an ethos established by our founder who is ambitiously expanding our impact through new initiatives like Operation: Lupary.

As a provider of critical services, even though the company is relatively young since only being founded in January 2018 and regarding ourselves as still New Kids on the Block, with this comes the desire to succeed and maintain consistency for all clients. Why? Because we care. We operate with the knowledge of the company founder who began in the industry back in 1989, and with this insight, the passion for protecting and capitalising on his experiences while in the Forces, the company drives to succeed with bespoke dedication, discipline, and determination.
